Olbermann reports on the passing of a bill in Congress that will grant immunity to corporations that violated the law by implementing mass wireless surveillance on Americans without a warrant. Furthermore, they are also immune from past violations. The FISA bill essentially grants immunity to any corporations that “acted patriotically” in the best interest of our country. The statute provides a means to acknowledge violations of the constitution but removes judiciary authority to determine legality of actions taken by corporations. In other words, the legislature is crippling the courts and dictating on the matter of immunity.
