my husband was a veteran of vietnam he was injured in 1968 and recieved a 100% disablity.he has always suffered from ptsd but woul not seek help. it grew worse over the last few years and i taked him into going to va hospital to get reevaluated hoping they would recognize his problems and treat him.he took a 4 hour mental test on paper and wrote up a report without him ever talking to a phyciatrist.
all they did for him month after month is push pills at him for pain , they put him on methadone and vicode for pain.every month they were late as much as 10 days and my husband would go into withdrawls he could not stand anymore .on march 30th 2008 he shot himself in the head.I have been told that if they find that his death is non service connected i will not recieve any of hi pention. I really worry what all these young people injore in this war will do with their lives when the government no longer has a use for them
