Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThank you for this presentation on alternatives. However, a conversation about alternatives in my opinion is not complete without talking about Corel’s WordPerfect Office X3. This product has been around for some time, maybe even predating MS Office, but it is a mature product that costs less than half of its MS counterpart.
One point I would like to make regarding the online suites is that for some of these products you my need to be connected to the Internet to take advantage of their full feature set. With that said, these online suites are advantageous to those who travel and need to have access to these tools and their own documents which may be stored online.
Pat & the Q Tech Talk Team : Great Show! And thanks for featuring Zoho
Zoho looks promising. I have one customer using GoogleDocs, with success, another with some issues.
WordPerfect…Yikes dust off my Wordstar. Been there, done that. Corel make the product cost effect or RIP.
BTW Being able to do your stuff on the Internet is called “cloud computing” i.e.the computer applications are on the Internet. –Q
