In this segment from the 2008 season of “Focus On Diversity,” Troy Shaw interviews Mary Sinnen, who is a nurse practitioner specializing in kidney disease for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
Mary explains the importance of the kidneys to everyone’s health, and gives us advice on what we can do to keep them intact. There is a special emphasis for our African American viewers, who are four times more likely to develop a kidney disease. Her guest is George Taylor, who is suffering from kidney failure. George tells us the story of his diagnosis, his struggles with health insurance, and living with kidney failure.
